BACKGROUND 

The approved fiscal budget for the Period Ending December 31, 2015 includes $154,000 for the replacement of seven passenger vehicles in the Building and Health Services Department.  The current vehicles are over 13 years old and scheduled for replacement  (six are 2002 Taureses and one is a 2003 Cavalier). The Fleet Services Unit has inspected the vehicles and recommends replacement based on condition.

This proposed purchase of seven Ford Focuses is through the Suburban Purchasing Cooperative (SPC) which is a joint purchasing program for local communities. The SPC represents 143 municipalities in the six county area of Northern Illinois and is administered through the Northwest Municipal Conference, Dupage Mayors & Managers Conference, South Suburban Mayors & Managers Conference and Will County Government League.

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Village Board award the bid to Currie Motors of Frankfort, Illinois in the amount of $105,728 for the purchase of seven  passenger vehicles for the Building and Health Services Department and authorize staff to execute the necessary contracts.
