Item: Passenger Vehicles Replacement - Police Department

BACKGROUND

 

The approved fiscal budget for the Period Ending December 31, 2015 includes $36,000 for the replacement of two passenger vehicles used in Municipal Parking Operations of the Police Department.  The current vehicles are 2005 Dodge Neons and are scheduled for replacement. The Fleet unit has inspected the vehicles and recommends replacement based on condition.

 

This proposed purchase of two Ford Focuses is through the Suburban Purchasing Cooperative (SPC) which is a joint purchasing program for local communities. The SPC represents 143 municipalities in the six county are of Northern Illinois and is administered through the Northwest Municipal Conference, Dupage Mayors & Managers Conference, South Suburban Mayors & Managers Conference and Will County Government League.

 

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Village Board award the bid to Currie Motors of Frankfort, Illinois in the amount of $30,208 for the purchase of two  passenger vehicles for Police Department and authorize Staff to execute the necessary contracts.
