In February 2016, the Village Board approved a contract with AT&T for an upgrade to add fiber optic connections to Fire Stations 3 and 4. These network connection upgrades were needed to support new technology improvements that were part of the technology capital improvement plans identified by Fire Administration. The upgrade addressed issues related to:
- Creating, submitting and updating dispatch call reports to CAD and Firehouse applications
- Morning muster/video conferencing between all Fire Stations
- Network reliability and available bandwidth
The current agreement with AT&T ends February 1, 2020. There is a cost decrease for the term of this renewal from $1,507.50/month to $1,050.00/month. This upgrade has met staff's expectations and has been successful in addressing the goal and issues stated above. The proposed contract renewal would begin on February 1, 2020 for three years, ending on February 1,2023. Staff recommends the contract renewal with AT&T for the services at an annual cost of $12,600.
Funds are available in Account No.101-7101-531.22-70 for these services.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Village Board approve a three-year contract renewal with AT&T for fiber optic connections to Fire Stations 3 and 4, in an not-to-exceed annual amount of $12,600 and authorize staff to execute the necessary documents.
