Item: Microfiche Permit Scanning Project

For several years, Building & Life Safety has made significant progress in scanning the microfilm of our permits, plans and related documentation.  The original estimate from November, 2016 for the total project was $109,403. To date we have spent  $42,320.00.  It is estimated that the last of the microfiche for scanning would cost approximately $55,000.00.    The total cost would be $10,000 under the estimated total cost from 2016.

 

Building & Life Safety is seeking to complete the last of the microfiche scanning project in 2019 by transfer of funds from the 2019 General Contingency Fund. 

 

Recommendation

It is recommended that the Village Board authorize Microsystems, Inc. to complete the remainder of the microfiche scanning project in 2019.  It is also recommended that the Village Board approve a budget transfer from the 2019 Contingency Fund (101-9901-591-40-96) in the amount of $55,000.00 to the Building & Life Safety Digital Scanning Account (101-4501-523-21-65).
