A citizen’s inquiry related to traffic moving through her neighborhood at the intersection of Elm Street and Princeton Avenue contained a request to change the current yield sign to a stop sign. Based upon this request, a traffic review analyzed vehicle volumes and accident data. From the evaluation of the accident reports, the failure of the motorists to obey the yield sign indicates that an upgrade to a more restrictive 2-way stop sign control for the minor street Princeton Avenue to Stop for Elm Street is recommended.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the attached Ordinance Designating a Two-Way Stop Street, with Princeton Avenue to stop for Elm Street, be approved.
