Residents contacted the Village regarding concerns of speeding traffic on Chestnut Ave between Rand Rd and Palatine Rd. The speed survey taking along this segment of Chestnut Ave show the 85th percentile speeds are in excess of 30 mph.  Reducing the current 30 mph unposted condition to a posted 25 mph speed limit is justified.

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the attached Ordinance Establishing the Speed Limit on a Certain Street in the Village of Arlington Heights, which sets the speed limit of 25 miles per hour on a portion of Chestnut Avenue between Rand Road and Palatine Road, be approved.
