On December 21, 2015, the Village awarded a contract to Red Zone of Pittsburgh, PA for the televising, reporting, GIS integration, and condition assessment of our large diameter storm water collection system. The contract is set to expire in December 2019. This type of contract is an important tool for Public Works to maintain and schedule capital improvements to the existing stormwater collection system.
This would be the second of three possible extensions. The contractor has offered to extend the contract for 12 months without an increase in price. The term of the extension would begin in January 2020 and conclude in December 2020.
If this contract is rebid, the chances for unit price increases are high, as these rates are primarily labor-based, and hourly rates have increased over the last four years. While the total costs are dependent on the actual quantities used, Public Works expenditures will not exceed the budgeted amount. The bidder has been determined to be responsible and the contract extension meets specifications.
Funds are available in Account No. 426-7101-571-50.25 (SW1520) Storm Water Control Fund.
