On January 4, 2016, the Village awarded a three-year contract with IMEG Engineering of Gurnee, IL for professional engineering services, related to the design and construction inspection of water main, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer improvement projects.

This contract establishes hourly rates for various engineering disciplines to design and provide construction related oversite services for watermain replacement, sewer replacement, and spot repair, as well as storm sewer repairs. These services are part of a continuing program to rehabilitate the aging water, sanitary and storm sewer systems.

This would be the second of three possible extensions. The contractor has offered to extend the contract for 12 months without an increase in price. The term of the extension would begin in January 2020 and conclude in December 2020.

Staff has been pleased with the contractor’s quality of work and customer service. Staff recommends extension of this contract.

Funds are available in Account No. 505-9001-571.50-25 (WA9001).

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Village Board award a one-year contract extension to IMEG Engineering of Gurnee, Illinois, up to the budgeted amount, and authorize Staff to execute the necessary documents.
