The Fire Department currently has automatic fire mutual aid agreements with several northwest suburbs. These agreements provide for the supply of extra manpower and equipment from and to Arlington Heights when needed in response to a medical emergency. The attached mutual aid agreement includes Schaumburg, Elk Grove Village, Streamwood, Bartlett Fire District, Palatine, Palatine Rural and Rolling Meadows.

This update to the agreement provides that any community providing service to another community will utilize the billing rates and procedures of the community receiving mutual aid ensuring consistency in billing for residents of any given community, regardless of whether they receive service from their own Fire Department or a mutual aid response to their community. 

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Village Board approve the attached Resolution Approving an Emergency Medical Services Mutual Aid Agreement.
