The Village awarded a three-year contract with IMEG Engineering of Gurnee, Illinois, for professional engineering services related to the design and construction inspection of water main, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer improvement projects.

This contract establishes hourly rates for various engineering disciplines to design and provide construction related oversite services for water main replacement, sewer replacement, and spot repair, as well as storm sewer repairs. These services are part of a continuing program to rehabilitate our aging water, sanitary and storm sewer systems.

This would be the last of three possible extensions. The contractor has offered to extend the contract for 12 months without an increase in price. The term of the extension would begin in January 2021 and conclude December 31, 2021.

Staff has been pleased with the contractor’s quality of work and customer service, and recommends the extension of this contract.

Funds are budgeted in Account No. 505-9001-571.50-25 (WA 9001) for 2021.  Expenses are estimated at up to $100,000.00.

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Village Board award a one-year contract extension to IMEG Engineering of Gurnee, Illinois, for professional design services, and authorize Staff to execute the necessary documents.
