Background

 
In 2018, the Plan Commission recommended and the Village Board approved numerous amendments to Chapter 28 Zoning regulations. When the Ordinance was drafted by staff for approval by the Board, the Ordinance mistakenly merged the minimum lot size standard within each of the residential zoning districts with the minimum lot width standards. Therefore this amendment corrects those errors. In addition, a new definition for Institution Residential is proposed, adding the phrase: 

"such as a place of worship, public school, hospital, intermediate care facility or municipal owned or operated building" as a clarification. 

 


Recommendation

 

A public meeting was held by the Plan Commission on August 25, 2021 where Commissioner Jensen moved and Commissioner Cherwin seconded:

 

A motion to recommend to the Village Board of Trustees approval of PC #21-017, Text Amendments to Chapter 28, Section 28-3 and Section 28-5, regarding 'Definition' and Minimum Lot Size.'

  

Roll Call Vote:  Commissioners Jensen, Cherwin, Ennes, Sigalos, Warskow, and Chair Dawson voted in favor.  Motion carried.
