The 2021 Parking Fund includes $283,500 earmarked for the Parking Garage Rehabilitation Program. Over the past eight years, the Village has been investing in an aggressive program to rehabilitate the Village's four parking garages. Part of the program this year includes modernization of one elevator cab, controls, and lighting, and maintenance repairs on four other elevators. The elevator is original to the structure and has been operating successfully for 35 years.

On October 21, 2021, the Village conducted a public bid opening. The following bids were received and read aloud.

This year's program includes the modernization of the Vail Street Parking Garage - Elevator #4 (South Side), and the maintenance of components at four other locations. Village consultants have reviewed the bids and recommend Mid-American Elevator of East Dundee, IL be awarded the contract. Staff concurs with the recommendation and have successfully worked with Mid-American for the past seven years.

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Village Board award the contract for the Elevator Modernization to Mid-American Elevator of East Dundee, Illinois, in an amount not-to-exceed $182,330 and authorize staff to execute the necessary documents.
