The Police Department continues to rely on morgue transportation services for law enforcement related incidents requiring body removal. Requirements for these services necessitate removal be performed in an environmentally safe manner with respect and dignity for the deceased. Additionally, compliance with industry standards, legal requirements and local regulations is required. On-call staff and equipment must be available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for timely response.
On February 10th, 2020, the Village awarded a 1-year contract, with (2) 2-year renewals to Compassion Funeral Services. The vendor is requesting a nominal price increase, within contract terms, for the following services:

Per Police Department policy, staff is recommending the Village Board approve a contract extension for Compassion Funeral Services and the acceptance of requested pricing structure. The Police Department is satisfied with the professional services provided by Compassion Funeral Services.
Funding for this service is sufficiently allocated under account number 101-3001-511.21-65.
