The Village utilizes three contracts for custodial services for the municipal buildings. "Group A" covers the cleaning needs of Village Hall, the Police Department, and the Senior Center.

The “Group A” cleaning contract covers services after normal business hours at Village Hall and the Senior Center five days a week, and seven days a week for the Police Center.

On April 4th, 2016, the Village Board awarded a three-year contract to Crystal Maintenance Services of Mount Prospect, IL for the above services. Per Village policy, successful contractors can be permitted up to three one-year extensions with Village Board approval.  

Staff has been satisfied with the custodial services provided by Crystal Maintenance Services. Therefore, staff is recommending a one-year contract extension, per the original contract terms. This would be the third of three potential one-year contract extensions, and this extension would begin in 2022. Crystal Maintenance Services has offered to extend the contract for 12 months, with no increase in price.

Funds are available for these services in Account No. 101-7101-531.21-11.  Estimated expenses for these services are $120,300.

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Village Board award a one-year contract extension for Municipal Buildings Custodial Services - Group A to Crystal Maintenance Services of Mount Prospect, Illinois, up to the budgeted amount, and authorize staff to execute the necessary documents.
