Currently, the Village utilizes three contracts for custodial services for the municipal buildings. The Floor Maintenance contract covers the monthly buffing and annual waxing of vinyl floors and annual carpet cleaning at all municipal buildings.

On April 4th, 2016, the Village Board awarded a three-year contract to Alpha Building Maintenance of Homer Glen, IL for the above services.

Per Village policy, successful contractors can be permitted up to three one-year extensions with Village Board approval. 

Alpha Building Maintenance has offered to extend the contract for 12 months, with no increase in price. Staff has been satisfied with the floor cleaning services provided by Alpha Building Maintenance. Staff is recommending a one-year contract extension, per the original contract terms. This would be the third of three possible contract extensions, and this extension would begin in 2022.

Funding for these services is available in Account No. 101-7101-531.21-11.

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Village Board award a one-year contract extension for Municipal Buildings Floor Maintenance to Alpha Building Maintenance of Homer Glen, Illinois, up to the budgeted amount, and authorize Staff to execute the necessary documents.
