The Village Engineering Department received a request from the Arlington Heights Park District to extend the “2 Hour Parking” restriction outside Volz Park. Following the review, it was determined that extended parking hours will not cause disruption to the road users and allow park visitors to enjoy park facilities longer without the need to re-park their vehicles. Additionally, following the consultation with the Arlington Heights Police Department, it was identified that historical “2 Hour Parking” and “No Parking from 6am to 9am, Monday to Saturday” restrictions, implemented in 1987 & 1994 to tackle Post Office parking problems are no longer required, therefore can be removed.

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Ordinance attached be approved.
