Discussions between Mount Prospect and Arlington Heights related to pedestrian movements along Central Road at Arthur Avenue and the Bosch driveway resulted in the identification of some needs that could be addressed for the mutual benefit of both communities. 

Specifically, neither traffic signalized intersection has the complete pedestrian push buttons and signal heads for people to be able to completely access all four corners of these intersections. Improvements will also include the install of an omitted sidewalk and include complete A.D.A. compliant handicapped ramps at both intersections. The implementation of these upgrades will improve pedestrian movements throughout the area for both municipalities. 

The proposed Agreement is for the preparation of the plans and contract documents to provide these changes. Cost Estimates for the monies necessary for this will be forwarded from the consultant, and Staff will then bring the cost proposal back to the Board for consideration and authorization to proceed at that point.                     

RECOMMENDATION 

It is recommended that the Village Board adopt the attached Resolution.
