Discussion of Potential Anti-Corporate Welfare Ordinance

At the last Village Board meeting, the petition was received pursuant to Section 2-204 of the Village Code for an “Anti-Corporate Welfare Ordinance”. While the petition itself does not meet the standards of the Village Code due to a lack of the appropriate number of valid signatures, the item will still appear for discussion only under Report of the Village Manager.  Given the lack of signatures, the item is not up for a vote at this meeting. However, the Village Board has asked Staff to prepare information on what the impact of the proposed ordinance would be.
