The 2022 Parking Fund includes $548,500 for the Parking Garage Rehabilitation Program. Over recent years, the Village has been initiating a systematic program to rehabilitate the Village's four parking garages. Part of the program this year includes the modernization of two elevator cabs, including the controls, lighting, and other required maintenance repairs. The elevators are original to the structure and have been operating successfully for 35 years.

On November 29, 2022, the Village conducted a public bid opening. The following bids were received and read aloud.

This year's program includes the modernization of both elevators in the North Parking Garage – (E. Eastman Street and N. Evergreen Avenue), The Village’s consultant and staff have reviewed the submissions received and recommend Mid-American Elevator of East Dundee, IL be awarded the contract. Staff concurs with the recommendation and have worked with Mid-American in the past and have found their work to be satisfactory.

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Village Board award the contract for the Elevator Modernization to Mid-American Elevator of East Dundee, Illinois, in an amount not-to-exceed $394,500 and authorize Staff to execute the necessary documents.
