The 2023 Resurfacing Program & Sidewalk Program includes the resurfacing of 9.0 miles of asphalt streets, including Cedar Glen Lane (Algonquin Road to Embers Lane) which is eligible for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds. The program also includes the resurfacing of the Commuter Lot A and Commuter Lot S parking lots.

Bids were duly advertised, and of the eight plan holders, two bids were received and publicly opened on February 10, 2023. The bids received and the Engineer’s Estimate for the Base Bid, CDBG Street, and the Municipal Parking lots resurfacing are as follows:

Builders Paving, LLC was the lowest responsible bidder and successfully performed the Village of Arlington Heights 2022 Resurfacing Program & Sidewalk Program. Staff recommends award in the amount of $4,298,000. Upon approval, this work could begin in early April.

RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the Village Board award the 2023 Resurfacing Program & Sidewalk Program contract to Builders Paving, LLC of Hillside, Illinois, in the amount of $4,298,000 and authorize Staff to execute the necessary documents.
