Attached is the Illinois Department of Transportation Resolution for Maintenance appropriating funds for the 2022 Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) General Maintenance for Traffic Signal Maintenance.  MFT is a per gallon tax collected by the State specifically for the purpose of performing maintenance on local roadways and is distributed to municipalities on a per capita basis.  The Village of Arlington Heights allocates this funding toward Traffic Signal Maintenance and the Roadway Reconstruction Program. 

Funding for Traffic Signal Maintenance was previously approved and $116,800 was appropriated.  However, an additional, $11,916.70 was spent under this contract and, therefore, a Supplemental Resolution is required.

This procedure is required by the Illinois Department of Transportation in order for the Village of Arlington Heights to access these funds.

Funding for this expenditure will come from the Public Works MFT Account No. 211-7101-550400 (SG0302).

RECOMMENDATION

 
It is recommended that the Village Board adopt the Resolution for Maintenance under the Illinois Highway Code and appropriate an additional $11,916.70 and authorize Staff to execute the necessary submittals.
