The 2023 Public Works Operating Budget includes $332,500 for contractual landscape maintenance. Parkway Restoration accounts for $9,000 of the annual budget, and includes restoration for watermain breaks, sewer repairs, snow plowing, and tree removals, at various locations throughout the Village.

On April 6, 2020, a three-year contract was approved with Apex Landscaping of Hawthorn Woods, IL for Parkway Restoration Services. Per Village policy, successful contractors can be permitted up to three one-year contract extensions with Village Board approval. Staff has been satisfied with the quality of work provided by the contractor.

Staff is requesting approval for the first of three possible one-year contract extensions. This extension would begin in January 2023 and end in December 2023. The contractor has offered to extend the contract with a price increase of 3.4%, which is within contract terms.

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Village Board award a one-year contract extension for Parkway Restoration to Apex Landscaping of Hawthorn Woods, Illinois, per original contract terms, and authorize Staff to execute necessary documents.
