BACKGROUND

The Engineering Department was recently notified by several residents about concerns they have with parking on East Miner Street near North Windsor Drive.  Residents were concerned that the parked cars are causing visibility issues making it difficult to pull in and out of their driveways.

Staff investigated the concerns and evaluated the potential negative impacts that might be caused by a parking restriction, and reviewed the conditions in accordance with the typical traffic standards, existing conditions and historical practice.  As a result, staff determined that a parking restriction is warranted.

Therefore, to help resolve that issue staff is proposing to implement a “No Parking” restriction on the section of East Miner Street identified on the attachment.

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the attached ordinance designating No Parking restriction on the specified section of East Miner Street, as defined on the attached map, be approved.
