Item: Cash Paid by Developers in Lieu of Land Dedication

Two times per year, subject to availability of funds, the Village solicits requests from other governmental bodies for the release of monies collected from developers under the Village's Land Dedication Ordinance.  As of October 31, 2023 the following summarizes the amounts collected and the requests from the other governmental bodies including their proposed designation for the use of these monies:

 

Arlington Heights Elementary School District 25 - To fund improvements to existing schools.

 

Total collected to date and requested:  $4,761.68

 

Township High School District 214 - To offset costs related to improvements of existing business, technology, special education, and facility improvement projects at John Hersey High School.

 

Total collected to date and requested:  $2,347.60

 

Arlington Heights Park District - To help improvements and/or additions to existing parks.

 

Total collected to date and requested:  $10,784.08

 

Arlington Heights Memorial Library - To help fund Kids World renovation project.

 

Total collected to date and requested:  $866.22

 

Salt Creek Park District - To fund a proportional amount of architectural and construction costs for the Rose Park building project, which is attributable to the Arlington Downs Development.

 

Total collected to date is $1.16 million; requested:  $620,000

 

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Village Board approve disbursement of contribution in lieu of land dedication to various local governments and approve the local governments' designation for use of the monies totaling $638,759.58.
