The Village contracts out plan reviews to handle peak demand during the construction season while Engineering staff is busy managing projects.  In 2022, the Village requested proposals from twelve (12) qualified professional engineering consultants to provide Engineering plan review and private development inspection services. On March 21, 2022, a one-year contract was awarded to Engineering Resource Associates, Inc. (ERA) with the option to extend the contract for up to three (3) one-year extensions. Staff has been satisfied with the services provided by ERA and recommend approval. The hourly rate for 2024, the second one-year extension, per contract terms, are summarized below.

It is important to note this budget was reduced by approximately $90,000 due to the creation of an additional engineering inspector that will share the responsibilities of small single family home reviews.

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Village Board award a one-year contract extension to Engineering Resource Associates, Inc. of Warrenville, Illinois, for Plan Review Professional Services, in an amount not-to-exceed $100,000, and authorize Staff to execute the necessary documents.
