The annual Roadway Program includes the resurfacing of 8.20 miles of asphalt streets, including portions of Brighton Place, Haven Street, and White Oak Street which are eligible for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds. The program also includes the resurfacing of the Wing Street parking lot at the northwest corner of Northwest Highway and Arlington Heights Road.

Bids were duly advertised and publicly opened on February 8, 2024 for the 2024 Resurfacing Program & Sidewalk Program. Bids were received from three contractors. The bids received and the Engineer’s Estimate for the Base Bid, CDBG Street and parking lot resurfacing are as follows:

Builders Paving, LLC was the lowest responsible bidder and has successfully completed previous Resurfacing Program & Sidewalk Programs for the Village, and Staff recommends approval. Once approved, this work could begin in late March or early April, depending on weather. This project will be highlighted on our website as well as graphically shown on the Village's 2024 Construction Map. 

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Village Board award the 2024 Resurfacing Program & Sidewalk Program contract to Builders Paving, LLC of Hillside, Illinois, in the amount of $3,688,000 and authorize Staff to execute the necessary documents.
