The Police Department received notification of a grant award in the amount of $170,917.00 from the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board (ILETSB). The grant provides for reimbursement for purchases of in-car video cameras for use in law enforcement vehicles; officer-worn body cameras for law enforcement officers, data storage costs related to officer-worn cameras, and training for law enforcement officers in the operation of the cameras. The grant award is non-matching and will reimburse costs already expended by the Village for currently deployed camera systems. 

Recommendation

The Arlington Heights Police Department recommends the Village Board approve the resolution and authorize the Village Manager to enter into a grant agreement between the State of Illinois, Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board,  in the amount of $170,917.00 (non-mathcing).
