BACKGROUND
The FY15 Capital Budget includes $55,000 for the replacement of Two Utility Vehicles. The current vehicles are over 12 years old. One replacement is for the Engineering Department and one is for the Water Production Unit of the Public Works Department.
The Suburban Purchasing Cooperative (SPC) is a joint purchasing program for local communities. The SPC represents 143 municipalities in the six county area of Northern Illinois and is administrated through the Northwest Municipal Conference, DuPage Mayors and Managers Conference, the South Suburban Mayor and Manager's Conference and the Will County Government League. Cooperatives are able to bid and obtain lower pricing due to larger purchasing contracts. The lowest bid for utility vehicles is from Currie Motors, Frankfort IL in the amount of $46,120 for both vehicles.
Sufficient funding is available for this purchase and Staff recommends approval.
