On May 12, 2014, the Arlington Economic Alliance met with the Committee-of-the-Whole, seeking to gain direction as to the Village Board’s expectations of the Commission. The Committee-of-the-Whole suggested that the Alliance decide among its members how it can best contribute to the economic well-being of the Village. 

Over the past six months, the Arlington Economic Alliance has discussed its mission in monthly meetings. The attached Ordinance is the result of those discussions. The recommended changes are proposed in order to ensure that the Alliance serves in an advisory capacity to Staff efforts and includes additional members who represent partnering organizations and taxing bodies. To include these new entities, it is recommended that the Commission grow in size from 11 to 13 members.  

Recommendation

It is recommended that the Village Board adopt the attached Ordinance Amending Chapter 6 of the Arlington Heights Municipal Code.
