Item: Vehicle Replacement for Building & Health Services - Suburban Purchasing Cooperative

BACKGROUND

 

The approved FY15 Capital Budget includes $22,000 for the replacement of a Ford Taurus in the Building & Health Services Department.  The current vehicle is in excess of 12 years old and is in need of replacement.

 

The Suburban Purchasing Cooperative (SPC) is a joint purchasing program for local communities.  The SPC represents 143 municipalities in the six County area of Northern Illinois and is administered through the Northwest Municipal Conference, Dupage Mayors & Managers Conference, the South Suburban Mayors & Managers Conference and the Will County Government League.

 

RECOMMENDATION

 

It is recommended that the Village Board award the bid contract to Currie Motors of Frankfort, Illinois in the amount of $17,338 for the purchase of a 2015 Ford Fusion for the Building & Health Services Department and authorize Staff to execute the necessary contracts.
