Item: Vehicle Replacement for Police Department - Suburban Purchasing Cooperative

BACKGROUND

 

The approved FY15 Capital Budget includes $34,250 for the replacement of a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) for the Police Department Patrol Bureau.  The current vehicle is over four years old and exceeded its useful life as a patrol vehicle.

 

The Suburban Purchasing Cooperative (SPC) is a joint purchasing program for local communities.  The SPC represents 143 municipalities in the six County area of Northern Illinois and is administered through the Northwest Municipal Conference, Dupage Mayors & Managers Conference, the South Suburban Mayors & Managers Conference and the Will County Government League.

 

RECOMMENDATION

 

It is recommended that the Village Board award the bid to Currie Motors of Forest Park, Illinois in the amount of $33,200.40 for the purchase of a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe for the Police Department Patrol Bureau and authorize staff to execute the necessary contracts.
