BACKGROUND

The FY15 Capital Budget includes $119,000 for the replacement of two 1-ton Dump trucks.  The current trucks are over 12 years old and are used daily in different units.  Staff is recommending purchasing the cab & chassis through the State Contract and outfitting the trucks utilizing the National Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA) contract.  Outfitting of the dump trucks includes purchase and installation of dump body, plow, hydraulics and controls.

National Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA) is a joint purchasing cooperative that is similar to the Northwest Municipal Conference and offers a bidding service to local agencies. Monroe Truck Equipment, Monroe Wisconsin offers NJPA pricing for outfitting of 1-ton Dump trucks.   The total price for the outfitting of two 1-ton dump trucks is $50,716.00.

Sufficient funds are available and Staff recommends approval.

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Village Board award the bid for outfitting Two 1-Ton Dump Trucks to Monroe Truck Equipment of Monroe, Wisconsin in an amount not to exceed $50,716.00.
