BACKGROUND
In April 2014, the Village Board adopted an Ordinance Prohibiting the Use of Groundwater as a Potable Water Supply by the Installation or Use of Potable Water Supply Wells or by any Other Method for the area at and around 202 E. Rand Road. Last month, the Village Board adopted Ordinance Number 15-007, which was the same ordinance in substance as the April 2014 one but addressed a new requirement of the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency for such ordinances. Upon review of the March 2015 ordinance, the IEPA has now requested that Exhibit B, which contained a legal description only of the property that was the potential source of the contaminants, be removed. Exhibit A, which is a map with PINs of impacted properties, remains.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Village Board adopt the attached Ordinance Prohibiting the Use of Groundwater as a Potable Water Supply by the Installation or Use of Potable Water Supply Wells or by any Other Method for the property at and around 202 E. Rand Road.
