Item: Thermoplastic Pavement Marking - Joint Purchase / Suburban Purchasing Cooperative

BACKGROUND

 

Thermoplastic is a long lasting pavement marking material that is used to mark roadway striping. The material comes in bags and is heated to a liquid form prior to application.

 

The Village participates in the Northwest Municipal Conference (NWMC) Joint Purchase Program for Thermoplastic Pavement Markings. The prices listed below are for the 2015 Suburban Purchasing Cooperative (SPC) contract. Northwest Municipal Conference is a participant in SPC along with the DuPage Mayors & Managers Conference, the South Suburban Mayors and Managers Association and the Will County Governmental League.

 

The Village’s share of the contract is based on striping and lettering unit prices and will not exceed our budget of $44,400. The Suburban Purchasing Cooperative has approved the second of three one-year contract extensions with no price increase.

RECOMMENDATION

 

It is recommended that the Village Board accept the contract extension received by the Suburban Purchasing Cooperative from Superior Road Striping, Inc. and approve the contract issued by the Suburban Purchasing Cooperative to Superior Road Striping, Inc. for Thermoplastic Pavement Marking Services for the not-to-exceed amount of $44,400.  The bidder has been determined to be responsible and the bid meets specifications.
