At the August 21, 2015 Closed Session, the Village Board authorized settlement of the workers’ compensation claim for Firefighter Richard Manthy. Firefighter Manthy was diagnosed with a tear in his rotator cuff that occurred while carrying 150 pounds of equipment up a flight of stairs while fighting an apartment fire.

The settlement amount of $35,628 falls within the authorization previously granted by the Board.

Recommendation

It is recommended that the Village Board approve a settlement of $35,628 for the workers' compensation claim of Firefighter Richard Manthy.
