At the July 6, 2015 Closed Session, the Village Board authorized settlement of the workers' compensation claim for former Firefighter Phillip Cappitelli. Phillip worked as a Firefighter for the Village from 1966 through 1998. In 1998, Phillip Cappitelli passed away due to complications involving cancer of his esophageal junction. 

The settlement amount of $70,000 falls within the authorization previously granted by the Board. 

Recommendation

It is recommended that the Village Board approve settlement of $70,000 for the workers' compensation claim for former Firefighter Phillip Cappitelli.
