BACKGROUND
As part of the 2016 budget process, the MFT fund included funds for Contractual Traffic Signal Maintenance. Attached is the Illinois Department of Transportation Motor Fuel Tax Resolution for Maintenance of Streets and Highways by a Municipality Under the Illinois Code and the Municipal Estimate of Maintenance Costs.
Historically, these Resolutions have been submitted to the Village Board for approval at the end of the fiscal year in order for the Public Works Department to be able to reflect more accurate spending amounts. IDOT has now requested that these Resolutions be adopted prior to expenditures being made, which is why the 2016 Resolution is being presented at this time.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Village Board adopt the Resolution for Maintenance of Streets and Highways by a Municipality under the Illinois Highway Code and appropriate $103,500 and authorize Staff to execute the necessary submittals. Funding for this expenditure will come from the Public Works MFT Programs Capital Projects Account No. 401-7101-571.50-40.
