At the April 4 Closed Session, the Village Board authorized settlement in the case of Golpashin v. Village of Arlington Heights.  The lawsuit was filed by a woman who was injured while riding her bike on the sidewalk on the west side of Schoenbeck Road, south of Towne Boulevard.  At the location where she fell, there was a sidewalk gap ranging from 2.5 inches to four inches and she suffered significant injuries as a result of the fall. Settlement was reached in the amount of $165,000, which is consistent with the authority given by the Board.

Recommendation

It is recommended that the Village Board approve the settlement in the case of Golpashin v. Village of Arlington Heights in the amount of $165,000.
