Attached is a final version of the Northwest Highway Corridor Beautification Plan. At the June 22, 2015 Committee-of-the-Whole CIP meeting there was discussion regarding the Northwest Highway corridor landscaping improvements proposed at that time.
The Village Board asked the Planning & Community and Public Works Departments to collaborate and develop a Comprehensive Plan for the corridor identifying priorities and key focal points over a multi- year phased approach. Each year the plan would be evaluated as part of the 5-year Capital Improvement Plan and additional updates and future years added to the report as necessary.
The plan sets forth some overriding goals for the corridor and identified a framework to evaluate improvements based upon minimum maintenance, opportunity areas, and enhancement areas. The plan also discusses the Davis Street fence issue raised by residents.
It is anticipated that this plan will be presented to the Village Board at an upcoming Committee of-the-Whole meeting.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the Board review the Study and after input accept the report.
