At the July 18, 2016 Closed Session, the Village Board authorized settlement of the workers' compensation claim for Firefighter Bryan Smith. Firefighter Smith injured his right shoulder while lifting a pump can fire extinguisher from a fire engine. 

The settlement amount of $144,332 falls within the authorization previously granted by the Board.

Recommendation

It is recommended that the Village Board approve a settlement of $144,332 for the workers' compensation claim of Firefighter Bryan Smith.
