At the February 20, 2017 Closed Session, the Village Board authorized settlement of the workers' compensation claim for Firefighter Gregory O'Rourke. Firefighter O'Rourke injured his left knee while stepping off of a fire engine. As a result of this injury, Gregory did not return to work as a Firefighter and was awarded a line of duty disability pension.

The settlement amount of $172,065.33 falls within the authorization previously granted by the Board.

Recommendation

It is recommended that the Village Board approve the workers' compensation settlement for Gregory O'Rourke in the amount of $172,065.33.
