On April 3, 2017 the Village Board authorized execution of a Lease to occupy suites 100 and 300 at 1500 W. Shure Drive for the temporary Police Station during construction of the new Police Station.
Interior build out renovation plans have been prepared by Legat Architects and Consultants and bid by Riley Construction. Funds are budgeted for the temporary Police Station lease, move, and interior build out under the Public Building fund Other Building Costs, as separate project components from the new Police Station construction amount.
Riley Construction Temporary Police Station Bid Package #2 $251,719
The bid is consistent with preliminary estimates. Funds are budgeted in the account 431-9013-571-5025 (BL 11-10) for this project.
The interior build out of the space is still subject to the building landlord review, but consists primarily of limited interior demising walls, construction and relocation of the police front desk, significant IT security, and other electrical components.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the Village Board approve the Temporary Police Station Bid Package #2 for the interior build out of 1500 W. Shure Drive, and authorize Riley construction to proceed with the interior construction in the amount of $251,719 to be funded form the Public Building account #431-9013-571-5025 (BL 11-10).
