Requested Action

 

Amendment to Chapter 30, Sign Code, to add Article VII Electronic Message Signs.

 

Recommendation

 

A public hearing was held by the Design Commission on August 22, 2017 where Commissioner Eckhardt moved and Commissioner Coon seconded:

 

A motion to forward the Draft Electronic Message Sign Ordinance dated August 22, 2017 to the Village Board of Trustees, without approval or denial, and the following:

 

1. A requirement that a landscape plan be submitted with each application for an electronic sign.

 

2.  Electronic signs shall be eligible for sign variations, if needed.

 

3.  The Design Commission throughout this process has been clear in that they do not endorse at this time to allow electronic signage in the Village.

 

Roll Call Vote:  Commissioners Coon, Kingsley, Eckhardt and Chair Fitzgerald were in favor.  Motion carried.
