The 2017 Public Works Operating Budget includes $90,900 for the purchase of liquid deicer which is used for Snow and Ice Control Operations.  Public Works has significantly increased our use of liquid deicer in an effort to improve our service level and reduce the amount of road salt used.  Liquid deicer is used in conjunction with road salt during operations and can be used for anti-icing applications as well.

On October 20, 2017, Public Works publicly opened the following bids:

The low bidder, Industrial Systems Ltd., has successfully worked with the Village and provided this product in the past, and we therefore recommend this award. The bidder has been determined to be responsible and the bid meets specifications.

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Village Board award the contract for the furnishing and delivering of liquid deicer to the lowest bidder, Industrial Systems Ltd. of Lakemoor, Illinois, for a cost of $ .6680/gallon.
