Item: Arlington Heights Police Station Bradford Lockers

Storage solutions for the new Police Station need to be purchased from the FF&E/Security/Telephone budget account.  Specialized equipment and personnel lockers, shelving & storage systems for the building are required to enhance security, efficiency and maximize space needs.  Architectural drawings were issued to Bradford Systems, who provided their bid based on existing plans and written specifications.  Bradford Systems provided pricing using the National Intergovernmental Purchasing Association (NIPA).

 

NIPA is a joint purchasing cooperative that is similar to the Northwest Municipal Conference and offers joint purchasing services/products to local agencies. The Village is a member of the NIPA.  The NIPA price provided by Bradford Systems is $474,660.

 

The Police Department currently utilize numerous Spacesaver storage products sold and serviced by Bradford Systems, some of which will be re-purposed in the new Police Station.  The Village also utilizes Bradford High Density Spacesaver storage systems.  Utilizing this vendor allows for ease of maintenance and proven durability.

Recommendation

It is recommended that the Village Board authorize the Village Manager to enter into an agreement and approve the purchase from Bradford Systems Corporation, Bensenville, IL. for Police Station storage solutions in the amount of $ 474,660 from the Public Building Fund, FF&E/Security/Telephone account.
