Item: Resolution - Agreement - Wheeling Township Bus Maintenance & Storage
Department: PW/Legal

Since 1987, the Village’s Fleet Auto Technicians have performed maintenance and repairs on buses owned and operated by Wheeling Township, including buses leased to the Township from PACE.  At the present time, there are ten Township and PACE owned buses in this fleet.

Historically, the Township has entered into five-year agreements for storage of some buses and fueling/maintenance of all ten buses.  The current agreement expires in August, and Staff has prepared a new five-year agreement for Village Board consideration.

This Agreement has been modified to increase the hourly rate charged from $65.00 to $85.00 with annual 2% increases to keep up with inflation.  Additionally, we have ended the storage component, so the Village can store more of our equipment indoors.  This is a five-year Agreement covering all ten buses.

The Agreement has already been approved by the Wheeling Township Board.

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Village Board adopt the Resolution approving the Intergovernmental Agreement between the Village of Arlington Heights and the Wheeling Township for maintenance of ten Township and PACE buses.
