| | | In 2016, the Village joined the Northwest Central Dispatch System Joint Emergency Management Program (“JEMS”). As a member of JEMS, the Village is committed to coordinating its emergency management program activities with JEMS. Part of that coordination includes modification to the Village Code provisions on emergency management to ensure they do not conflict with JEMS. The attached ordinance amending the Code modifies existing language to ensure consistency in emergency operations as a member of JEMS.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the Village Board adopt the attached Ordinance Amending Chapter 7 of the Arlington Heights Municipal Code related to Emergency Management Agency and Emergency Powers of the Village President.
