An inquiry has been received from a resident whose home was hit after an angle collision occurred at the intersection of Foxdale Lane and Walnut Avenue.  Previous studies of the intersection several years ago did not result in the warrants for a stop sign to be posted being met.  However, since that time vegetation has matured, and the number of vehicles occupying the driveways adjacent to this intersection cause sight distance difficulty for north and south bound motorists approaching the corner.

Reviewing the crash reports at this intersection for the past five years, there  have been four angle collisions that could be aided by additional traffic control.  While this frequency does not rise to the level to warrant an all-way stop intersection, the creation of a two-way stop intersection requiring Walnut Avenue to stop for Foxdale Lane is recommended.   

RECOMMENDATION         

It is recommended that the attached ordinance designating a two-way stop intersection for Walnut Avenue to stop for Foxdale Lane, be approved.
