The approved FY2018 Capital Budget includes $60,750 for the replacement of one pickup truck for the Public Works Department.  The current vehicle is used by the Street Unit of Public Works on a daily basis in the Municipal Garages. The proposed vehicle is a 2019 Ford F-350 Pickup Truck.  The current truck is in excess of 15 years old, and the Fleet Unit of Public Works has deemed the vehicle in need of replacement.  If this award is approved, the existing vehicle will be sold at auction per Village requirements.

Staff is proposing to purchase the vehicle through the Suburban Purchasing Cooperative (SPC).  SPC is a joint purchasing program for local communities.  SPC represents 143 municipalities in a six County Area of Northern Illinois, and is administered through the Northwest Municipal Conference.  Reusch Ford of Bensenville, IL is the SPC low bidder on this vehicle.

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Village Board approve the purchase of one 2019 Ford F-350 Pickup Truck in an amount not-to-exceed $41,640 from Reusch Ford of Bensenville, Illinois, and authorize staff to execute the necessary documents.
