The approved 2019 Capital Budget includes $50,252 for the purchase of two law enforcement motorcycles for the Police Department. The Police Department utilizes these motorcycles for traffic enforcement, traffic control, parades, and other specialized responsibilities such as escort duties. The current vehicles are in excess of ten years old, and have exceeded their useful lives as Police vehicles. The current vehicles will be surplused in accordance with Village guidelines.
Bids for the motorcycles were duly advertised, and listed below is the sole bid received and publicly opened on March 19, 2019.

Staff is proposing to purchase the two 2019 Harley Davidson FLHP Law Enforcement Motorcycles from the sole bidder, City Limits Harley Davidson. The Village has worked with City Limits in the past and found them to be acceptable, and the bid meets specifications.
The total cost for the two motorcycles is $46,666.38 and funds are available for this purchase in Account No. 621-9003-572.50-05 (VH9503).
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Village Board award the bid to City Limits Harley Davidson of Palatine, Illinois, in the amount of $46,666.38 for the purchase of two 2019 Harley Davidson FLHP Law Enforcement Motorcycles for the Police Department, and authorize staff to execute the necessary contracts.
